I haven’t taken family photo’s in fall leaves in years. Visalia doesn’t have fall leaves in the park like Woodward Park in Fresno. Since moving to Visalia I have found a LOVE of open fields, oak trees and the multitude of locations down town, that I just push the idea of masses of maple leaves aside. Saturday I had the opportunity to photograph the Craig family in Kingsburg and lookie what I found! Masses of maple leaves! Thanks Craig’s for braving the rain!

So we decided to change up the location of our ESPRESSIONS sessions to the hay stack. I just LOVE my Emily’s photographs and asked my EXPRESSIONS clients for today if they’d like it to. The consensus was for the hay and I’m so glad!

Little miss “A” was such a sweet little one to photograph. In our quick little EXPRESSIONS {mini sessions} she was so cooperative that she got to wear 2 outfits and I’m so glad mom came prepared with a little patriotic style. Such a cutie!

I grasped the opportunity to do a personal workshop along with my friend Cori with the two amazing photographers Carrie Sandoval and Brittany Woodall of Baby as Art. I have followed Carrie for many years, looked to her work as inspiration and watched her grow in her art. When I think who is “the” newborn photographer it would be Carrie and Brittany…and as I type this I can picture their big humble grins at the flattery :) They work together in silent unison, anticipating each others next move. Really an amazing thing to watch played out as they worked at posing and detailing their newborns for their sessions sessions. This image above is from my camera yes but, I can only take credit for a fraction of what you see here. This serene sleeping baby, posed beautifully and with more detail and care than one might imagine, is the work of Carrie and Brit:)

Carrie and Brit, Thank you for being open and sharing your time with us for a day! I look forward to putting what I’ve learned into practice and seeing you again.

Little miss “M” is 9 months! Time flys, it’s seems like I just took her newborn photo’s… We took a little trip to Gazebo Gardens in Fresno for some hints of color and flowers. I have been wanting to do a session at a flower nursery for some time now and I’m glad I snatched up the opportunity with this session and I’d love to do it again (hint hint:)
